I have always wanted to get my portrait taken so it is similar to that of my great great grandmother’s, Martha Roberts, ambrotype, which was taken by Westbrook photographer Charles Gooding in 1863. Now I have seized the opportunity. I have commissioned a photographer who will take my portrait on March 2^nd in Westbrook. This photographer is from outside Maine but she has arranged to meet me for the portrait.The photographer uses the old techniques and old vintage equipment. With this, I will pose for an ambrotype. This is a one of a kind photograph. My father will document the session for me, so I can post some pictures later along with the one of my great great grandmother, in my possession. I have to sit still for 15 to 30 seconds with my head against a hidden brace. Stay tuned. I think it may be of interest to some of you.
